George's Story
Joined the Marines in July, 1973 after moving to Marietta, GA. Spent 24+ years on active duty, moved 20 times, married Fonda Agee in '77 after she graduated from Shaw in '76, lived in nine states, many of them multiple times, lived in Japan for five years. Started as a Private, retired as a Major after becoming the first CWO5 in my field. Earned three degrees ending with an MBA all on my time and the DoD dime. Spent all of my time in Electronics, Communications and Data. Settled in Raleigh, NC in 1997 after retiring from the Corps and worked for a succession of High Tech...Expand for more
companies; Ericsson, Sony Ericsson, NetApp and Red Hat - all telecommunications and/or IT. Supervised, managed and led people for nearly 40 years and stopped that in 2015. Relocated to Daphne in 2018 because Red Hat did not care where I lived to fulfill my global technical requirements. Came home to help my sister with my 97-year-old Mother living in Fairhope, AL.
I've lived all over the continental US (North, South, East and West), visited 49 states & 48 countries for business and pleasure on 5 continents and I still keep coming home to the best country on the planet.
