George's Story

Life Born on Painters Street in the Gentilly section of New Orleans I attended Lafayette School on Carrollton Avenue and Walmsley, and St Theresa Catholic school (Little Flower) on Monroe Street and The Airline Highway. I went to De La Salle on St Charles Avenue and Slidell High School in Slidell LA where I graduated. I then joined the Air Force and remained in as a lifer for 26 years. After retirement I attended and graduated from Kennesaw College now known as Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw Georgia. I joined the Air Force, completed Basic Training at Lackland AFB TX. After Basic I was transferred to Sheppard AFB TX to complete Aircraft Mechanic School. I was assigned to Eglin AFB Main Base after completing school at Sheppard AFB. I worked in Transient Alert at Eglin for 8 months before being transferred to Torrejon AB, Madrid Spain where I spent the next 8 years. during my career were: urtsmith AFB Michigan, Keesler AFB MS, Danang AB RVN, Clark AB, Phillapines, Embassy duty at Copenhagen Denmark, and Montivideo Uraguay as a crewmember on Embassy Aircraft. I earned my basic pilot license at the Torrejon AB Aero Club, and over the years spent many dollars and many hours boring holes in the sky, obtained my Air Transport Pilot Rating. (ATP) I obtained a BBA-Management Degree After graduation I went to work for Flight International as an Instructor Flight Engineer. After a year flying and teaching the B-727 there I went to work as the Chief B-727 Instructor at Continental Airlines in Houston TX. When UPS started their own Airline, I designed and implemented the B-747 Pilot Training Ground School at the UPS Flight Training Center in Louisville KY. I trained the first 105 B-747-100 Pilots for UPS as a Ground School Instructor and Simulator Instructor while flying the line to Hawaii, Amsterdam, Korea, Hong Kong, and Japan.
