George's Story
Life
after attending Creighton University for two years, I dropped out and joined the Marine Corp. I spent 2 years at Marine Barracks 8th and I, where I met my wife. We were married in 1990 and our first child, Kayleigh, was born at the end of that year. I was then assigned to 2nd Mar Div at the beginning of 91. I spent 5 months in Saudi/kuwait, with CRC and 2nd LSB. Upon returning to the states, I was assigned to 2nd battalion 4th marines, weapons company. I spent about two years there.
I ended up spending an extra year in after discovering that I needed shoulder surgery in 1992. I did the last year at headquarters marine corps.

ed by my hometown police department. I spent four and a half years in patrol and was then assigned to investigations. I spent 5 years there and also served with the greater st louis major case squad.
In 1999, my wife had our second child, Alexandra. In 2003, I returned to the patrol division and last October I was promoted to sergeant. I currently work as a patrol supervisor on the midnight shift. I am also finishing my bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
It's been a lot of fun so far. I have gotten to do things that most people will never get a chance to do, and may never want to do. I made a lot of good friends along the way, with whom I regret losing touch.
