George's Story

First of all I have enjoyed reading all the stories of all old classmates and it's good to hear that most have had productive, happy great lives. We have lost many love ones like our parents and some good friends but we have familly, kids, some have grand-kids(still hard to fathom) and especially our memories of elementary school (Ord Terrace), middle school(Fitch- now Seaside Middle School) and of course Seaside High. When I look at the year books, and see names/faces of old friends.....it's seems like yesterday, no worries of bills, IRS, work, responsibilities of childern to take care of but just homework to be completed, exams & test to prepare for, running that obstacle course that Mr. Fitzpatrick, coach Hazdovac, Hunter would make us run at least once a week. Looking forwards to seeing your friends during lunch break, talking about going to see a football, basketball or even a track meet during the week. I was fortunate to go on to MPC and then graduate from Chico State University from there I was again lucky to work in the Silicon Valley for 20 years+. I work for Intel Corp, IBM, Applied Materials and Apple Computers and some high-tech start up. It has never been boring but a challenge to be in an environment and time where one was part of a very creative 3 decades of computer development that has given foundation as to where we at now. But eventually we all must move on at times not by choice. Life is like a roller coaster, you lean to the curves, hold on to the dips and close your eyes at times and enjoy that un-expected quick jerks. Once you opened your eyes you see that it wasn't that bad and you already to take that ride again. I have been bless to go to the last three group reunions(h...Expand for more
ope they continue) and run into old classmate and renew friendships. Some people haven't changed except for less hair, a little shade lighter, some in shape, some not but happy with themselves, some still working, some retired but all seem very happy and smiling while talking about when we were all younger and still in school. There never seems to be enough time to talk to everyone, catch up on what is going on with their lives, just enjoying one another. At the end of the evening we try to say good-bye to one another, take phone numbers, hand out e-mail addresses and hope to meet at the next reunion-God willing- and wipe away those tears of memories which we keep stored in our heart not our brains. Again hoping that when we meet again everyone is in good health, that some more of our old teachers are invited, everyone is very excited, smiling, anxious to find out what has been going since our last reunion. I guess & know as we grow older, we cherished our friendship, school memories, times of optimistic childhood, no real responsibilities and see how bless we all have been to have positively impacted each other lives and hopefully of all our love ones. This is what keep us young, our memories fresh like it was yesterday and keeps all of us at striving to make this a better world for everyone we touch, say "hi" to, smile, help, treat with respect and equality. So I hope to see more of our classmates at our next reunion. Let's have fun, smile, laugh and remember those special days when we were kids ....we can't let go of that feeling otherwise whats the meaning of have memories. Hope to hear from all my all old ...I mean young friends don't be strangers, we have all our lives infront of us. George
