George's Story

My Name is George Zavala. My last year in Belmont was in June of 1972. I joined the Military and got my GED. I went to Cal Poly Unisversity in Pomona,Ca upon dishcarging from the Military. I entered City Service for the City of Los Angeles in 1978. I retire on July 18, 2009. I am currently selling real estate in the Antelope Valley Area. I Plan to travel in the United States every chance I get while retired. I enjoy all social events. Not particular to any one. It would be nice to meet former Belmont friends. but, also willing to meet anyone interested in chatting with me. I just hope I still have old friends from Belmont Below are answeres to Questions I was asked to answer: I always thought of myself as a suit and tie man. I tried it for a while when I joined the work force but realized it wasn't for me. I also told myself when I got out of the military, I would never wear another uniform again. As it turned out, I joined city service and wore a uniform for the next 28 years. So, it goes to show you. Never say " never again". For relaxation, I like to sit back and breath slowly until my pulse and blood pressure goes down. It is hard at first, but easier with practice. I done a lot of wild things in my past, but, who hasn't. It's all part of growing up. But, you have to learn to let the wild ways go and get serious and plan for your future. But, there is nothing wrong if you hold on to Just a little bit. My heroes are always of courages men with integrity and honor. Whether real or fiction. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Ike blandino. But, he passed away now and that will never be. There are no guarantees in life. So, sometimes you have to act out your plans quickly. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the family room and add on a entertainment center. Better than the one I have now. My dream home would have a Huge a pool and spa. I would like to see Mr Goldstein again. So I could tell him a GED, though as good as a regular diploma, is not the same thing. He was the reason I didn't complete my last semester and joined the service. I kinda of missed not going to any of the reunions thru the years. Though I was invited, I didn't feel it was appropriate to go. Of course I totally don't regret getting my GED. It was a step in the right direction...Expand for more
. I don't longer feel the same way anymore. So,if I am invited again, I would definitely go. So, please invite me. If I won $100 million, I'd give unlimited amounts of it for better education among relatives, then spend the rest on Me , myself and Irene ( whoever she is). To be truly happy, I would like to be RV'ing in a campsite with family and friends and exploring nature. later at night listen to music and dance. Or just enjoy the campfire and chat. Any takers? My current age is 55. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old fashion with the times. I was so completely wrong, because I don't find myself old fashion and out of touch. Who knows what happened to my first crush. I'd have to go back when I was four years old. Her name was Emma My best friend would tell you I'm a cool guy, but people who don't know me very well, would probably describe me as not so cool. But, once you get to know me. I am warm to the touch. Yeah! I still probably dress the same. Got a problem with it? When I was in college,I was a newspaper boy(or man). I drove a van to deliver newspapers to homes that did not get their regular delivery. Hey...it paid for my school books and occasional chili dog. I keep all my trophies and awards in a box. I haven't had the big victory yet. Do-over: I think I answered that already Mr. Goldstein. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by doing all the right things. I had several old friends. we just clicked becaused we had wild tendencies and oblivious of the consequences. Sounds familiar? Will people be surprised at what became of me? Oh! I will surprise them alright. But, I'll wait till I go to my first reunion. That's if I am invited. My first job was at a car wash, where I got paid 6 dollars to, guess?. What I remember most about it is I got fired the first day because I unknownly called the owner's girlfriend a broad. I think I was about eight years old when I found out there wasn't any Santa Claus and I wasn't getting a present that year because we were too poor. There were eleven of us. Well, that's it for the questions. I'll be happy to answer what ever other questions you have in private. So, please feel free to email me. P.S. If you get this far. Please write to me. I gets lonely down here. :O)
