George's Story
Life
Lets see. Out of school I went right into the Air force for 4 years. Learned to be a computer repairman (tried to pursue it at the time but companies wanted electrical engineers). Spent a year in Mississsippi in tech school and then was stationed in Omaha. After 1 1/2 yrs got orders for Germany where i spent the rest of my military life. Upon leaving I returned back to Buffalo. I got married, worked at twin fair and attended UB for 2yrs (electrical engineering) until I was asked to leave. You can't do all things at once. I attended Bryant & Stratton got an associates degree in business and went right to work in constrution for my father. That lasted about 2yrs. Worked for Niagara Mohawk, Town of Amherst, and Buffalo Forge all in that order. While Buffalo Forge was on strike I got a job with the City of Buffalo as a street repairman filling pot holes. anks it to be a Senior Engineer. I as the head of Streetlighting for the City until I retired in 2006.
It was a very long and hard road. I didn't kiss ass or be very political. I went back to school at 50 and got a Civil Engineering degree. I got divorced in 1992. (my x-wife died mother's day 2001) I have one son (Kris) he attended Buff state and then UB grad now Law school in New York where he met his wife. They are now both Lawyers in San Diego. No Grandchildren.
Life right now is pretty good. I have gone to Europe 5 times, visted Thailand and Cambodia, Greece, Turkey, and Egypt. Did a Nile river and Rhine river cruise.
I live with a wonderful woman Judi. We enjoy travelling. We done about 10 cruises. Hawaii and Alaska along with the Caribbean. We are planning to cruise the Panama Canal in January of 2010. WE just bought an Class A RV and also hope to travel the US in the near future.
