George's Story
Graduated,1962. Attended Ripon College in Wisconsin for one year, then transferred to University of Denver in Colorado. Graduated from DU with a BA in Mass Comunications in 1966. I met my future wife (Sue) at DU. We will have been married 48 years this coming September 2nd. We have two children; Carl and Megan. Carl is married to Irma, a woman he met while serving with the Army in Panama. Megan is married and has two step-children with her husband who she met and married while serving in the Peace Corps in Cote D'Ivoire, West Africa. Carl is a contract instructor at Ft. huachuca, AZ while Megan is now a Foreign Service Officer with the State Department, current with the U.S. Mission to UNESCO in Paris, France. n Europe, from Stockholm, Sweden in the North to Greece in the South. We also travelled,to Israel, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Ghana. The Air Force, in which I served for 26 years, also sent me to Korea, Hawaii, and Alaska. I was a Communications Intelligence Analyst in the AF. After retiring from the AF in 1993, I returned to school to earn a Masters of Social work Degree from the University of Maryland. I then worked for 18 and 1/2 years as a Social Worker at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. I worked in a medical clinic for patients with HIV/AIDS. I retired from Hopkins December 31st 2013 and have basically been enjoying my hobbies of Amateur Radio (call sign WF3U) and gardening. My wife and I also enjoy visiting our daughter wherever she gets assigned. I'll end by saying that today I'm the oldest I've ever been!
