I have been an RN for30 years now. I specialized in pediatric and neo-natal Intensive Care and geriatric Management until a motorcycle accident in August of 2001. At that time I was working at Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. The accident ended my working days.I am unable to drive, but at least I am alive. I was on life-support after the accident and had a fractured neck. I learned to walk again, and am self-sufficient. I can no longer roller blade as I used to and a few other activities that challenge my sense of balance, but I am now forced to "act my age" as many friends told me. I have a 38 year old son who is an Air Traffic Controller in the Army, just home from 2 years in Korea .He has served in Germany (5 years) with side trips to Bosnia and other places that scared me half to death and was actually in country for 5 years.He is of course a 'lifer' and has 18 years in. I have a 35 year old daughter who was a pit boss in a casino for 6 years. Eight years ago,She gave up her position and her condo to join the Air Force as a medic. She is the mother of my two granddaughters, a beautiful girl, Keegan and her baby sister Kylei ages 6 & 4 respectively. My daughter returned home from her 'desert vacation' in Iraq in Feb. of 2006.
