Georgia's Story
Life
The largest transition I ever made was leaving high school for college. Whipped my personality around to a full 180 degree turnaround. The rest of my life has been based on that turnaround. My interests throughout my life have been holistic, healing music; Celtic music; historical fiction; ancient readings; Native American readings;collecting swords and learning about their origins. I consider myself more New Age with a twist. New Age, as far as I am concerned, is taking ancient readings and bringing them into the modern age. It's just information we've passed over or lost and are now regaining. An exciting time to be alive.
Workplace
In the middle of my life, I worked for and received my Master's degree in Gerontology and Thanatology. My hope was to go into Hospice work. In fact, I did my practicum with Hospice. However, my life path went ...Expand for more
a different direction and I found myself in the social work field working with foster/adoptive parents and writing custody reports. All of this I found very satisfying and fulfilling. Challenging, oh yes......it was that. There were, however, rewards. Intransigent though they may be, the rewards were great. I had anticipated keeping this job for 20 years; but events compelled me to retire early, for which I am not sorry, because it leaves me time to do those leisure activities that my job, as much as I loved it, did not. It was becoming nearly a 24/7 job. Or maybe I was allowing it to. Maybe a little of both.
Anyway, now I am more active in hosting a private women's foroum with a friend of mine whom I met on line. And pondering various volunteer activities. For right now, though, I'm just taking it easy and trying to de-stress after all those years.
