Georgiann's Story

I retired from teaching in May of 2007 having had 31 years of fun in the classroom and in the coaching fields. I am teaching part time at North Central State College in nearby Mansfield and babysitting grandchildren on my off days. My husband of 34 years is in engineering and looking at retiring after 40 years in his current job! My 3 grown children still live nearby so we are able to visit and spend time together. I have become a grandmother to my daughter's boy, Christian now almost 6, and her daughter, Allison (2) and currently am privileged to be sharing the babysitting duties with their other grandma while my daughter teaches first grade. My eldest is an RN and has 2 children from his wife's first marriage. Mia is 9 and Ian is 7 while their baby Sophia is 5 months old already! They live a couple of hours away so I don't get to see them as often as the others. Our youngest has been married for 3 years...Expand for more
, but they are waiting for children until he finishes school. He is studying to be a PTA like his wife. She graduated and then he began! One of my passions is spending time on our cabin cruiser...it's small...24 feet in length...but affords great times on Lake Erie. We hope to expand our boating travels to the other Great Lakes as well as some of the smaller lakes around the country. I still love to work in my flower gardens and play with our 4 dogs (3 Yorkies and an English Springer Spaniel). Living near the bike trail, I still enjoy getting out for a walk, bike ride, or some rollerblading. My newest endeavor is taking piano lessons...something I have always wanted to do but never made the time for. I have been at it a year and love making music! Life is good and as I always told my students, "Every day I wake up is a good day!" God has blessed me and my family greatly and I thank Him for each day he gives me!
