Joseph's Story
After graduation, I joined the navy for four years. I've seen about 3/4 of the world including Vietnam during the war years. The navy almost became my career, then I changed my mind and came back home to Michigan and earned a journeyman's card as a Toolmaker-jig and fixture builder.
During this time, I met and married my wife, Glenda. We started a family; two sons, Joseph and David. We moved our family to the Santa Cruz mountains in California in 1982, where I worked as a Systems Analyst for four years. Then we moved back to Michigan. I was rehired at Chrysler as a toolmaker-jig & fixture builder; then I was promoted to a management position. While all this was happening, the wife and I moved to a small farm in St....Expand for more
Clair County, Michigan where Glenda began a small cottage business raising sheep, angora goats, and angora rabbits for their fiber. We also raised poultry and sold eggs.
In 2007, I retired from Chrysler and now busy myself with projects around the farm. The wife and I enjoy traveling; cruises, and taking long country rides on my Harly Heritage. It's a 100-year anniversary edition, and I am very proud of it because I promised myself that I would buy one when I retire, and the dream came true. I am also a grandfather of three beautiful children, two girls and a boy.
Glenda and I built a retirement home in South Carolina near the coast. We will move there permanently when the economy picks up again and the farm sells.
