Gil's Story
Gil graduated from Boonton High School in 1965. After graduation, he attended the University of Miami where he earned a Bachelor of Education degree. In February 1970, Gil joined the U.S. Air Force ultimately serving as a B-52 Bomber pilot. During his Air Force career, Gil flew over 75 combat missions in Southeast Asia including Linebacker II (Christmas 1972 bombing raids on military targets near Hanoi and Haiphong). Later, he served as an instructor pilot on the B-52, Strategic Air Command flight test pilot, Chief of Current Operations, Director of Training, Assistant Operations Officer, and NATO Staff Officer. m Oklahoma State University where served as an adjunct professor. Soon after leaving OSU, he was hired by Southwest Airlines as a classroom and flight simulator instructor in the Boeing 737 pilot training program. In 2000, Gil joined FlightSafety International where he served in a number of positions including; instructor pilot, Director of Training, Assistant Center Manager, and Center Manager at several company training centers. Currently, Gil is enjoying retirement in Loveland Colorado.
