Gilbert's Story
In the first ten years, I had gone to Dekalb Community College for a 2-year degree and then went to Boston for three years, studying Hebrew and getting married to my first wife, Kathie. We returned to Atlanta in 1980 and had four kids (2 of each) before the end of 1986. She traded me in for a newer model after just 13 years, but that new guy "was a lemon!" She then took our kids and moved from our home in Norcross, GA to a small town just south of Lansing, Michigan. I followed a year later, in 1997 and stayed until the last of the four finished high school and entered college in 2004. I retreat...Expand for more
ed to Texas for three years to get away from the cold, having picked up a sales position in advertising sales while my kids scatter to the four corners of the continental U.S. One daughter married an Army soldier and was transferred to Fort Bragg, NC and then deployed to Iraq. I moved to North Carolina in 2007 to be with my daughter and her two little girls while daddy was deployed. He returned safely and I relocated to Atlanta to stay with my 90-year old mother in Sandy Springs. I currently am employed as an independent advertising sales consultant working in outdoor and direct mail advertising.
