Gina's Story
Life
Hi, everyone. This is Gina (Koupeny) Fox. Since high school days I have been a wife (twice), a mom (twice), and now a grandmother (5 times). I spent the first 15 years after high school traveling around the country, first with Dennis Fox (another '65 graduate) and then with just my boys, David (born in 1965), and Jon (born in 1970). Then I settled down in SE Michigan again, and started working for GM. After 21 years with them, I retired. For the last 10 years I have hired myself out as a secretary, with a goal of working 6 hours/day, 5 days/week, 3 weeks/month, and traveling the rest of the time. My youngest son, Jon, with his wife Becky, and their daughter, Lindsey Rae (born June 21, 2000) and son, Elliott Craig (born December 2, 2006) live in Waco, TX where Jon teaches music at McClennan Community College. Jon obtained his Masters in Jazz Studies at the University of Colorado after his undergrad at Wayne State. David has provided me with three grandchildren, Noah (born in 1990), and Jesse (born in 1994),live in Fenton, MI and I have been able to spend lots of time with them. M...Expand for more
adison (born in 2002) lives in Davison with her mom and I used to see her when David had his visitation. Unfortunately, David passed away in December 2006 and I no longer get to see Madison.
For fun I travel, play piano, read, surf the net, and spend time with my church singles group. I'm unable to be too active physically due to severe arthritis in my feet and knees (too much cheerleading, and too many years as a catcher on a softball team). I also suffered a minor stroke in 1998, which may have been brought on by severe sleep apnea. In spite of my physical limitations, I love my life, my children and grandchildren, and friends. This web site is terrific because it brings back so many memories. And my four years at Cass were terrific.
As of July 2009 I am living in Waco, Texas close to Jon and his family. I receive my GM pension, Social Security (as long as it is around) and work 6-8 hours/week for a company in Michigan. I arrived in Waco to continuous 100 degree days, but I am looking forward to more time with family and NO MORE SNOW!!!
