TV shows she likes include Blue Bloods, Nip/Tuck, The Good Wife. One of Gina's favorite quotes is:"The Past is Gone-The Future only a Dream--The ONLY PLACE OF POWER IS THE PRESENT--DO WITH IT WHAT YOU WILL. JUST DO SOMETHING---NOW! DON"T WAIT FOR A BETTER TIME. THE BEST TIME IS NOW! Do not waste time and energy worrying about what has happened in the past or what may happen in the future. Focus your energy on making your mark NOW, because NOW is where the POINT of POWER is--NOW is the ONLY time when you CAN AFFECT change; NOW is the ONLY TIME which EXISTS; NOW is the ONLY TIME and PLACE where you are ABLE to MAKE a DIFFERENCE in the WORLD and IN YOUR LIFE! All of the rest is just wasting time--wasting energy--wasting emotion--wasting away--wasting...wasting...wasting... Do not let yourself be accused of wasting precious moments where you could be LIVING instead of WASTING or WAITING to LIVE because of FEAR. Live in the Moment. Be mindful of every moment. Do not let even one MOMENT of your life pass you by because they add up and pretty soon, you may find you have lost your entire lifetime, waiting... Life is what you make of it. The universe listens. What you believe, you achieve.". More about Gina:"Lately I have been focusing on improving my parenting skills, learning how to become a more spiritual person and a better mother so I can raise my children to become more highly developed spiritual beings by following my example (hopefully). I am really enjoying my artwork and have been showing in galleries more and more. I have been specializing in marine creatures and sometimes sally into the beloved area of plant and floral life, often at the macro level in the footsteps of Georgia O'Keefe. I dabble in fashion jewelry design with my partner, Nick Trachsel, a master jeweler, who brings the designs to life. I also find it fun to create unique, fine quality, handcrafted costume jewelry in my spare time. After close to 30 years of wearing too many professional software engineering and business "hats" to count, I decided to transition into a new life as a professional Artist, using a wide variety of media; Mixing things up is just f...Expand for more
un! And fun is where and what I am about these days. I love working with kids and whenever I get a chance, I volunteer with the school. I find it re-energized me. The kids of this generation are so much closer to the Source. It is amazing the art they are putting out--and it is SO effortless! That is what good art is all about: find that sweet, childish spirit within us where we can just let go and PLAY again. That is when we produce the best Art-ART with a capital "A". Art that comes from the soul. Art that is channelled from the universal spirit that we can all tap into is there for anyone who is brave enough to let go of the inner critic and take chances and risks. Anyone who feels free enough to just PLAY like kids do, without worrying what someone will say about the end result. I like to tell the kids, "There are NO MISTAKES, ONLY HAPPY ACCIDENTS!" I try to get them to repeat it back to me at the end of the day. I'm currently working on a series of paintings of Seahorses, Pipefish & Sea Dragons and all critters related. I was insprired by the exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I've completed watercolor paintings of a Pacific Seahorse, Leafy Seadragon, Weedy Seadragons. I am currently working on a large triptych of a "cornet fish"-a 4-6 foot creature that resembles a huge squashed eel with a seahorse nose and joined mouth; a member of the seahorse family. I've been compiling a collection of smaller reef sea fish and creatures like nudibranchs, working to build up enough for a show based upon sea life. Most of these creatures are very tiny, some as small as a fingernail. I'm interested in them because of their extremely bright colors and interesting shapes. Of course, I enjoy making them a little bit larger to show off the details, a bit like Georgia O'Keefe did, although I only dare aspire to her heights. Most of my collection are a modest 7" x 9" in size. I am a Dreamer, a Dreamworker and dream analyst. Dreams are great sources of guidance: I keep a journal & often do paintings or other artwork based upon symbols uncovered in my dreams. Dreams that repeat are especially rich and are more valuable than precious jewels. Dreaming is how we speak to ourselves-our subconscious sends us messages through our dreams. The more profound the symbol, the more imperative we listen to the guidance being given! Semi-retired in 2000, from a professional life as a Computer Software Engineer, Business Analyst, Industrial Engineer, Instructor, Educator, Trainer and Courseware developer of a host of business and computer courses. I enjoyed my career while traveling back and forth around the country. I still do some freelance work as the mood suits me, and when I have the time and energy.".
