Ginger's Story
I started high school at Sacred Heart of Mary in Rolling Meadows, Illinois in the fall of 1968. I attend there as a freshman and sophomore, then transferred to Palatine High School for my junior year. At Palatine, I took mostly senior classes because many of the junior subjects were already covered at Sacred Heart. I also attended summer sessions in 1970 and 1971, so I had enough credits to graduate at the end of July 1971. I never had a senior year or graduation ceremony for high school. I started at W.R. After earning an Associate of Science at Harper, I transferred to the University of Illinois Chicago Circle campus and commuted to that school while still living with my parents in Palatine. I graduated college with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Information Science with high honors. I worked primary as a Computer Software Engineer at various companies such as IBM, GE, Tandem Computers, Silicon Graphics and Intel. I moved to California in 1980 and retired in 2014 at the age of 59. I now enjoy traveling and volunteering with IT related jobs.
