Ginny's Story
Life
Gary and I are approaching our 44th anniversary. Hard to believe. We have three children (two pregnancies, three kids...surprise!!) Sean: 37, graduated from the University of New Hampshire, working as an IT director in Boston, lives in Southie. Brian, 35, spent a year at Paul Smiths, and moved west. Lives in Ketchum, Idaho where he is a fireman/EMT, studying to become a paramedic, and eventually a nurse! He did a rotation at Yale last summer. He's our outdoorsman, so is in his element out there. Megan (the undiagnosed twin! yes, only to a nurse...), 35, is now a Double Domer, having graduated from Notre Dame for both undergraduate and Law School. She lives in Fairfield, and practices law in Stamford.
As Mr. Dupuis predicted way back when, I ended up in a service career. I graduated fro...Expand for more
m UConn School of Nursing in 1971, and began a career in pediatrics. A bit late, I graduated from Syracuse College of Nursing with a Master of Science, and became a pediatric nurse practitioner,
Work:
I started working at Yale New Haven in 1971, first in the intensive care nursery, then the pediatric intensive care unit (1982), and Pediatric Cardiology (1992). I left YNHH in 2004 to work in primary care, at Wildwood Pediatrics in Essex. In March 2007, I became the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for Yale University Pediatric Anesthesia.
Considering that I went to Nursing School with the idea of becoming a midwife, I went astray, but have never looked back. The kids are great, keep me laughing every day. Teenage boys have very strange interpretations of "apple juice or water only" prior to surgery.
