Gladys's Story
After high school I got a B.A. in English from Westminster College (PA) and worked at the Meadville Public Library for several years before going back to school for my M.S.L.S. from Clarion University. I have been living in Erie, PA since 1984 where I have been a reference librarian at the main branch of the Erie County Public Library.

racious to me and I did not need chemo; I will have regular follow-up checkups at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for the next five years. In the two years since I have had two more surgeries, a number of infections, a car accident and the diagnosis of two chronic health conditions. All of this led my family physician to advise me to retire so I could regain my health and energy, and I did in December, 2010.
As of April 2021 I continue to be cancer free.
