Glen's Story
I have been out of the Macon area since 1986 when the Bureau sent me to beautiful La Crosse, Wisconsin. I am serious about it being a beautiful place, but the weather required some adjustment.I arrived in the middle of June and the high temperature that day was in the sixties. in New York City in 1990 and volunteers were few. A bunch of other people who didn't volunteer and I got orders and off we went.
I worked in Manhattan from 1990 until 1997 when I transferred to Atlanta for the final stop of my Bureau career. It was interesting work and it has given me some great memories along with friends across the country.
