Glen's Story
Life
After PHS I served in the Navy for a total of 3 years active and in the 5 years reserve. I change to the UT. Nat'l Guard and served in the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) as a "A" team medic and later as a assisant Group Surgeon. I also was on the State Guard Pistol Team for 10 years. I did well enough to get invited to the US Shooting trial in Ca. in 1983 for air pistol and rapid fire pistol classes. I had fun but NO! I didn't make the US team.
I married a girl from Lindon in 1969 and we had 4 kids. In the Navy I was a medical corpsman. Since then I have been a respiratory therapist, an R.N. and now I'm working as P.A.(physician assist.) in AK (since '93). I worked mostly in UT (SLC & Park City,'80-84: Kamas,'84-88: Duchesne,'88-90 and Provo,'90-93) in family, occupational and emergency medicine as a P.A. U Medex IX class and graduated in 1980 as a P.A. I got a B.S. in PA medicine and sociology from Regents College, U of NY State, Albany in '93.
I divorved my first wife and remarried shortly after in 1986. Jalynn had 2 kids and then we had one. 7 KIDS! Fortunately we only have the youngest at home now. We also have 7 grandkids, ages 5 years to 7 mos.
I have been working in AK for the past 8 yrs., mostly at the Red Dog Mine. We moved to AK in Oct 99. We are active in the LDS church, Palmer 3rd Ward,Wasilla AK Stake. I've just received a call as a Stake missionary
We enjoy AK and we are now looking at a job in McGrath, a remote town 250 miles west of Achorage. We fish and hunt, tour the state and shoot CAS matches(cowboy action shooting). This last yr. my wife won her class in the territoial match and my daughter got 2nd. in her's. I won my class (frontier cartidge-black powder only) in the state championship match.
