Glenda's Story

After high school I attended International Business college in Ft. Wayne and completed a secretarial course. I became pregnant with my first child, and struggled a little with jobs for awhile. After my third child, I took an Intro to Machining course at Ivy Tech in Logansport. That was so fun! I ended up working at the Miami Indian office as a Tribal Enrollment coordinator and stayed there for a little over 6 years, until I got the job in Kokomo. I am single raising 3 children: Ages 18, 15 and 11. It's a struggle, but we're close. There's never a dull moment, let me tell ya! I have a rebel, a jock, and a bookworm all under the same roof and it can be pretty comical most days. My oldest, Heather, has been quite a handful and she gets lectured a LOT! I'm sure it's going in one ear and out the other, but one day it's going to stick. I'm hoping. My son, Chris ("the middle child"), is the man of the house...or, he thinks he is. He plays football and baseball. He's a pitcher and catcher, and I'm not sure of his posit...Expand for more
ions in football, but I do know that he plays offense and defense sometimes. He wants to play football for Penn State. Emilee, my 11 year old, is my honor roll student. She also plays volleyball and softball. Besides being a full-time mom, I work at Lorentson Mfg. in Kokomo. I can honestly say that I love my job. I get to drive a forklift (I work in shipping), and I'm only the 2nd woman ever to drive one there, and the 1st was a supervisor. (I feel so special!) Unlike high school, I'm personable and very vocal...especially at work. I do have my days though, as everyone does. I really do not have much of a social life. Working full time outside the home and being a full time mom on top of that doesn't leave much time for socializing. I don't do the bar scene...well, I don't even drink, but occasionally I get a chance to go to Bingo! Whoohoo!!! I don't win any money, but it gives me a chance to get out of the house. Well, that's my story. I hope I didn't bore anyone, but if you'd like to know more just ask.
