Glenn's Story

OK Joon here goes. After graduation went to work at OWENS-CORNING Fiberglass(probably where I took on my lung disease).....tell you when you Email me. Went to Foothill COL. just like most of the '63 class did. Took gen.ed. "OH GOODIE". Found my first wife of 11 years, Nancy Carol Langley (class of '65). We dated (whoa great balls of fire) then did the 'BIG' wedding thing. It was BEAUTIFUL, really. Settled into life then got the surprize of my life. You got it, the draft board. Yup I was A#1 prime. Just thrilling, oh goodie goodie here comes VIET NAM. Had to leave my lovely wife, of only 3 months, and headed to Fort Lewis U.S.ARMY for basic training, then on to A.I.T.,,,,,,of all places right back to Fort Lewis. Was assigned to the 296th Military Police Company. Nancy was able to join me after much too much red tape and more paper work and more red tape. Finally happened, we got a studio not far from base and began again where we left off (6 long months of school for me) Worked my way up to Sgt.E5, then shock number two, was sent to Germany for R.n R., you know ....rest and relaxation. Nancy was 10 to 11 weeks along and had a miscarriage and we lost our first born. What does a jerk like me say to his new bride.....didn't know anything to say. Just waiting for orders for the pond AKA Viet Nam. Month after month we waited for the other shoe to drop resting on pins and needels, not a fun thing, we were sweatin bullets every day. That was ok because Nancy got pregnant with our first born, Matthew. Army gets the jitters, I send Nancy home to her folks, I'm still on pins and needels. Hey guess what? US Army screws up and I finished my 3 year tour. They still had a trump card, a Sgt. E-6 rocker promotion and a tidy little re up check. I said no thanks to OCS and the promo and the pond. They played hard ball, I opt out and finished my 6 year committment in a Navy Reserve unit (go figure)still a mystery to me. I get home, Matthew gets here after 1 month, his weight was ELEVEN pounds 8 and 1/2 ounces, Nancy was just elated, of course so was I. Went on to finish my degree, Foothill was 'BLAH' and went on to West Valley and picked my AA. Of course in what you ask, yup, Law Enforcement. OK World look out here I come, took several Police Dept. tests and fell flat on my face. San Jose Police sent letter saying come take test again. Well what do you know I come out #6 out of 550 plus test takers. Spent the next 22 years in uniform and other Detective Units. Got a medical retirement in Dec. '94. Way too many ugly ghost stories to tell. To this day I can still see in 'livid color' and 'great detail' all the DEATH and 'gory details' of each and every victim, fatallity, even the smell of rotting flesh. Guess I'll have to take them ...Expand for more
to the grave with me. Let's go back to Nancy and the kids. Yup Nancy had Timothy in '72 and Jennifer in 75. GOD Bless Nancy, that lovely woman died of cancer in '78. I had seperated from her in '77, ya I know I'm "the scum of the earth". Nancy couldn't give me what I thought I needed. What a fool I was. Jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire, YUP hooked up with a cute little waitress. She had 4 years on me but it didn't matter. What she also had was 2 teenage daughters, OH JOY,,,,,I mucked it again. Second wife took a vacation to St. Louis and never came back. Got a "dear john" letter saying .... ... so back to the attorneys I go. DUMMY ME does it a third time, you know frying pan and fire. Boy you would think that I had learned my lesson. NOPE not me. I find me a tall Red Head 1/2 Irish and 1/2 Portugesse. Now if that aint four strikes against me I dont know. That one ended in a very ugly divorce (cost me near 2 mil)YUP you read it right, 2 houses, all my muscle cars and hot rods, 2 new HARLEYS, some more of these all of them ...........blah blah blah. Living up North in ol' Californy, with my best friend, Paddykakes. He is a Bouvier de Flandres, in at about 150 pounds. Doesnt yell at me if I'm late for dinner or the bills or or or, oh well I guess I'll close for now. (luv ya Smiles) glennsmiley 500 at yahoo dot com (Glenn) XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO LOL I always wanted to be a motorcycle cop when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were not, I was. Crank up the 'ol Harley Davidson and hit the road at about 140 mph just to blow off steam. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have my badge and, my guns, and a clear head to be able to deal with the day-to-day public. The persons from my past who I'd most like to see again is JERRY RODGERS and FRAN ARK, Junie Webster, because my best friends and my High School Sweetheart,(in my mind) unfortunatley. June was my first crush, but she didn't know it because I was so scared of girls. My best friends would tell you I'm realy nice, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a Hell's Angel. I share my home with PADDYKAKES, which I find to be my best friend. At a High school reunion I would probably blow away most all of you with the number of tattoos I have now (30+) and earings 45 or maybe it's 46, lose track of count. Rings on my fingers 15, Yup you read it right and 9 or 10 bracelets. Realy got into the 'Biker' world. OH yea 3 or 4 necklaces, long hair, But I did clean up quite a bit, got rid of my long ugly beard. Most of the things that I did I probably would be in prison for but never got caught. Guess I'll have to take those horror stories to the grave with me......
