Glenn's Story

After graduation from BHS, I joined the Air Force and was assigned to F. E. Warren in Cheyenne, WY then Fairchild in Spokane, WA. I met and married my first wife in Spokane, returned to Lynwood, CA following my discharge and worked at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach. I decided to enter law enforcement working as a Police Officer and Detective for Lacey, WA from 1968 to 1970. I became a Deputy US Marshal in 1970 with assignments in Beaumont, TX, Spokane, WA and Tucson, AZ where I was divorced after ten years of marriage and not living for the Lord. My ex-wife moved to Olympia, WA with our three children following the divorce. I received a hardship transfer to the Seattle office to be near my children. I met my wife Carol at a Christian singles group that met on Lake Union. We married in 1979 after warning her that my duties required me to travel all over the US. I was promoted to a position in WITSEC and assigned to Spokane for the second time. We became very involved in a church in Spokane, made many friends and stayed connected with Carol's family i...Expand for more
n Seattle and my children in Olympia. In 1995 one of the protected witnesses assigned to me was involved in a murder following a bad drug deal. 20/20 was running a story on the case since the drug dealer's family was suing the government for a hundred million dollars. When the WITSEC Chief named me in a interview with 20/20 which meant a transfer wasqqqqqq necessary for my wife's safety. Carol's dad was moved to a nursing home in Marysville, WA so I returned to the Seattle office until my retirement in 2000. After 33 years of law enforcement, I found the word retirement didn't set to well. After 911, I was recruited to conduct National Security Background investigation for the Department of Defense and have continued ever since. I changed to the Homeland Security Contract in 2004 to work close to the Northern border. Carol and I are again very involved in our church. Semi retirement activities are serving at church, travel, flying my little yellow airplane and camping in our teardrop trailer. Three adult kids and eight grandkids keep us hopping.

We didn't get to see the Star of Bethlehem on Carol's birthday, but we did get our first snow of the season in Mount Vernon. Happy Birthday to my wonderful wife!

Thanks Lord for the beautiful sunny day. Rode !6 miles on the eBike today. Everything was fine, except my gloves did not keep my hands from freezing. Back to REI for better gloves.
