Life
This is just a neat thing.. Intenet, Instant, Getting in touch with the past.
Little did I know when I graduated in 1954 that my life would become a (Loretta Lynn) remake.
I left Cory in 1960 bound for Stillwater, OKla., married to Bob Lacy from Terre Haute. He became the Radio/TV Department Head of OSU. I found myself a faculty wife at 23 years old, about the same age as most of his students. For those who knew I wanted to become a singer, (remember the AlumniBanquet)
well after a couple years, I joined the OSU Student Entertainer and traveled Okla as a representive from the Univ. We entertained President Johnson at the opening of Eufala Dam. What a lot of fun.
In 1968, I was divorced and found myself having to get into the work force. With a background of automobile and insurance, I moved to Southern CA and found a job the first week with a lot more money. I found a lot of places to sing but didn...Expand for more
't really try my wings until 1979 when I bought a set of equipment, PA, mikes, guitar etc and landed a job in a great seafood restaurant playing and singing four nights a week.
From there on, there was regular work doing something I loved to do.
In 1982, I moved to N.CA and found work in Napa Valley with some great touist places. In 1988 I discovered that I could get credentialed to teach in the CA Adult School System.
Wow, What a way to go. Good money, and retirement in the future, which is what I am now. Retired! My husband and I moved to beautiful Eastern TN., bought a house where we are surrounded by trees. Here I have found many muscicans, good and half-good... and no-good.. but having a lot of fun. People say I don't look my age.. and I say "It is all about loving what you do, knowing what to keep and what to get rid of." It is also about forgiving yourself and forgiving others". It is ok to remember.
