Glenn's Story
Life
After High School I moved to Oakland, Ca. and attended Merrit CC for 1 year. Received an academic scholarship to Central State University in Ohio to study Computer Science in 1979. I actually made the National Honor Society in 1979-80 school year. After 1 year there I transferred to Ohio State University. Had a GREAT time!!!The out of state tuition at Ohio State was a bit to much. Rather than graduate with 60K in student loans I moved back to Oakland and finished an Associates Degree in Computer Science at Merrit College in 1983. Transferred to San Francisco State in the fall of 1983 and worked my way through college as a Computer Operator/Programmer and graduated in 1988 with Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. First engineering job out of college was with Micron Technology in Boise Idaho doing Memory Design and Test. Moved to Austin Texas to work for Motorola in 1990 designing and testing the 68000 family of microprocessors. Since then I've worked for several semiconductor companies in Austin(AMD, IBM, Cadence, Sigmatel,FreeScale) as a microprocessor design and verification engineer.

I've published a few papers on Object Oriented Testbench Design/Verification. If you're interested I presented my last paper at the 2005 Boston SNUG(do a google search for; Glenn Dunlap AND Snug).
Currently doing independent Design/Verification Consulting in Austin Tx. Just finished a contract with Advanced MicroDevices(AMD) verifying their next generation microprocessors for Mobile(laptop) computing. Currently working for AMCC designing a new family of Embedded Processors for Network/Deep Packet applications. Engineering has been good and I've made some pretty good coin... Looking at real estate as my next career move... Also spending more time on my music production hobby. Taking courses at the local Community College on the music industry and I'm hoping to move into that arena as well. Austin, Tx has a multitude of live music acts so there are possibilities.
I've been married 18 years to a beautiful sister from Rochester NY. We have 2 children.
