siding/construction; music store sales; music instructor; vacuum cleaner sales; Friendly Restaurant manager;
receptionist. That's just a "smattering"!! But I always kept coming back to Human Services/Mental Health: The Anderson School in Staatsburg, NY as a generalist/special projects coordinator for E.D. High School students; direct care worker with the mentally retarded at Dutchess County ARC. And 20 yrs combined in various positions with Dutchess County Dept. of Mental Hygiene in Poughkeepsie, NY as a counselor at the 24 hr Helpline. This has been, perhaps, the most rewarding.
Military
Enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserve in June 1965, about 2 weeks before graduation from Our Lady of Lourdes High School. Delayed active duty entry while going to college. Entered active duty in 1967. This was a precarious period as the VietNam War was very active and escalating. Went to Navy Service school in California, training as a Communications Technician, teletype operator. That title has since been changed to Cryptographic Technician. Had some shipboard training on the USS Albert T. Harrris, destroyer escort, and the USS Charles P.Cecil, destroyer, as well as training in Pensacola, Florida. Spent the majority of my active duty at the US Naval Security Group Activity in Edzell, Scotland. Honorably discharged in 1971 at the rate/rank of CTO2 (2nd class Petty Officer -- E-5 the equivalent of sergeant). Active member of The American Legion.
