I enlisted in the Navy in 1968 to avoid the draft. Between active duty and reserves I served 26 years. My wife and I met at the reserve center in Atlantic City. We moved to Maine in 1984 and joined navy reserves in Bangor. In 1990 we were both mobilized for Desert Storm and were stationed in London, England for a year.".
