Gloria's Story
The tagged picture of me in high school reminded me I was an office helper. Those of you who knew me then must find that as hard to believe as I do. In high school, I spent most of my time at rock and roll concerts with a good friend Karen Kurlich. Where are you Karen? Well here's a brief summary of my life if anyone is interested.
Although I was lucky enough to have male friends as well as fiemale, my boyfriend from 6th grade til I was out of school was G.Oliver. Things happen and we broke up around 1975. Although I love Jesus, I was no angel. I had my first daughter Tammy right out of high school, she was beautiful and made me realize how much I loved children (I'll try to put the most recent pictures of my seven wonderful kids on this website. My Classmate profile picture was me and my last child, Autumn, in 1999.) The Lord must have had a plan for my life because I married a Bedford man named Joe. We moved to the Carolinas and I gave birth to Joseph in 1978, and we are bonded for life. Big Joe and I were married 13 years and loved living on our 15 acres in the country. We had our share of seperations, my fault, (when I felt like being single- BIGGEST MISTAKE IN MY LIFE). I blame myself for giving my daughter Tammy a distorted picture of how life should be lived and marriage should be taken seriously. Funny, my first boyfriend is still a dear friend and my husband Joe was always there for me and my best friend til the day he passed away (not that long after we had the picture of the four of us taken in my photos on Classmate, when Tammy, Joe, and I went to Ohio when my mom passed and the four of us played pool at a Bedford Heights bar.)
I went back to school for 4 years and became an accountant and got my life straight. I had moved to Naples where I was a single mom and an accountant at a great c...Expand for more
ompany. It was approx, six years after Joe and I finally split up legally, when I met and married my current husband Steve Sells. He had two daughters, Sara-(12) and Chantelle (8) . So we were a happy family of four
I started losing loved ones in my life. TOO MANY, TOO SOON..
Before Steve and I were married a year, we took custody of Alysia (2 weeks old). Three years later Cory was born and we made it legal that we were Alysia & Cory's parents. Two years afer Cory-our last baby Autumn (3 days old) was born and God had blessed us with being Alysia, Cory, and Autumn's parents to this day.
However, tragedy struck when Autumn was only 5 years old. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and am cripple to this day. I feel like I short changed our last three children out of a real mom, Alysia was 10, Cory was 8 and Autumn only 5 years old when I was bedridden.. But I had a great family that made me want to live when the doctors said I wouldn't make it out of my 40's. I am 56 and firmly believe that the love of my family (myl husband and 7 great kids) that kept me going.
We lost Tammy in 2009. That was THE WORST THING THAT I EVER WENT THROUGH, and probably would have been a basket case if I didn't have other children to live for.
I hope you all have a great time seeing each other this year but due to circumstances beyond my control, I won't be at the Cllass Reunion.. :) There are so many friends I wonder about like Sandy Brake, Karen Kurlich, Mary Jo Scanlon Randy Ash, Mark Hague, Rolly Sizler,Ricky Burns and many more friends I would like to know about. I saw Frank Novak when Joe passed. Terry Collins, a girl that I went through elementary til the end of school with made contact with me. Thank you Terry, it was nice to talk to you... May God Bless you all. X Gloria Brezovsky Sells, Jan. 2013
