Gloria's Story
If your were in the class of '65 and you are reading this, congratulations. You have gotten as far as I have. One day at a time. I'm married for 38 years, 5-7 or 29 kids, depending on how you count them. The 5 or 7 we count as ours , have blessed us with 9 grand children and 2 great grand sons, last count!
Life has led me to many jobs. From NA, Hospice NA, REMT, Foster parent, School volunter, college student, Chair of Wayne Co. Youth Board, Newark School Board Member, Coordinator of the Rape Crisis Program of the Victim Resource Center of Wayne Co., referee and
taxi driver.
Well, Taxi driver was related to the kids and so was the job of referee. Currently, Hubby and I are recovering from parenting a half year in Florida and a half year on the Erie Canal just out side of Newark,
Life has been very good to us and I wouldn't change a thing!!
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right , I just didn't have the patienceor the attention span for college.
Next question they want you to answer is: "What is the wildest thing you did in High School?" The Pat answer her would be everything we did at Bristol with Miss Brown, God Rest Her Soul! But I will admit to one Halloween with good friends in an 57 ch...Expand for more
evyon some back roads in Fairville area when we painted some stop signs and abutments. Those "with" me will recognize the event, No names needed! My really wild stuff was after High School
Next, did I have a hero or inspiration. I didn't have to even think about that one. Alex Eligh He never met a child he couldn't work with. He liked each child and felt each child deserved a shot at what ever it was they wanted to do.
And girls could do sports!!! Miss Brown had the same feelings but title NINE had not been written yetso she couldn't get the school to do anything!
Question 19, Whast happened to my first crush? He moved to Florida and became a PE Teacher, Boy was Roosevelt a long time ago
Number 25. I get one do-over, what would I do over?? I am who I am. I am an adult, do overs are for kids. Each days choices are what you are like it or not.
Number 26 is a good one!! In 10 years i hope to be Blank (ALive works for me!!)I'm going to get there by Blank (Breathing)
Number 27: My oldest friend, That has to be Joan Beckens, How did we met and why did we click. I was born first and 3 doors down the street her mom gave birth to Joan weeks later. The rest of the neighbor hood was the 6 Kowles boys, 2 Johnson boys, Jimmy Foss, and Johnny Furgeson. The girls had to stick together!!
