Vincent's Story
A little history. After leaving Granada Hills I graduated from Taft High in 1970. Moved to hermosa Beach and surfed for a year, and then started traveling. Found Yosemite in late 1971 and spent the next five years there, climbing, doing SAR work, and working for the National Park Service as a Ranger for three summers. They offered me a career position but I declined and bartended at the Awhahnee Hotel instead.
Move to Sonora in late 1975 and tended bar in Jamestown at the Hotel Willow for most of the next five years. In 1980 I moved to San Francisco and tended bar at Perry's, Prego, Perry's in Marin, Amelios' and MacArthur Park. Took a year off in 1985 and hung out in North Beach trying to figure out what I wanted to do next.
Eventually went into banking and became a Commercial Lender, working for Security Pacific. Within a year I moved to Napa, working for a community bank, where I stayed until 2000. Moved to Reno and worked for. few banks, before returning to Napa in 2004. My last bank was purchased by a competitor, and after a year I went out on my own as a consultant, hel...Expand for more
ping banks clean up and manage their loan portfolios. In 2013 I quit working and started traveling.
In 2014 I bought an Airstream and sold my house in Napa. I will never be owned by another house. Besides, in the Airstream if I don't like the view, I can move.
I live a simple life with my two English Setters, and we have traveled all over the United States and Mexico. I read a lot and live a very nice life. We migrate with the weather, aiming for seventy degrees, and look for off the road places.
I am on Instagram with the name Alluminator. Lots of images of Felix and Oscar.
I revisited my love for photography that started in Granada Hills, and shot for the Park Service in the early seventies. I hung a show in 1976 and sold out opening night. The next day I gave all my gear to my brother, and for thirty years didn't really do anything. In 2007 I picked up a digital camera, by 2009 I was hanging a show in Beijing...these days I shoot with my I-Phone.
I feel like I have had a wonderful life, and the friends I made at Granada were part of that journey. Life really is a gift...
