Julie's Story
Life
HI,
After high school I worked, went to OCC part time (mostly to get my parents off my back) then I grew up a bit, switched to EMU in Ypsi. and worked my way thru until I got my degree. That summer I traveled all around Europe and had the time of my life !
I worked in many different fields, including industrial sales, advertising, and yes, for a short while even selling beanie babies (when the craze was at it's peek) My original plan was to stay single and free forever, but you know how "plans" go...One day when you least expect it...in walks Mr. Right.
I married a wonderful man I met at work. He works full time, is still active in the Navy Reserves (even after serving 10 years active duty) When I met him he was the single dad of three w/ full custody. He was recently elected as the President of his newly established union local, and at the international convention held in Las Vegas this spring (2005)he was appointed Assistant Director of a new industry division they are forming for Casino/Hotel workers.
Update: Union re-elections were just held (Jan '08) and hubby was elected Prez. for another 3 year term. Also, He was also made the DIRECTOR (instead of as...Expand for more
st.) of the "CHIP" division about a year ago (yes, I'm very proud of him)
We were married in the fall of 2003. I went from very single to "OH, MY GOD" in a very short time. I had no children of my own, so I had no time to prepare, but now I'm the step mom of 3. Our daughter is still at home and joy for now, but she turned 15 in 2007 so we are holding our breath. The middle son is 18 now, in and out of trouble (and our home) and the third is about to turn 21 (going on 17 HA HA) and travels around the country doing nothing. We work at a Casino in downtown Detroit, we've both been there since it opened. I work in table games, he works in security. We live in Oakland county and travel when we can.
For those of you that knew my sister, Stacey...She is happily married w/ 2 young children(1 boy,1 girl) living in the D.C. area. Our mother helps out w/ all the grand kids as needed, and spends much of the winter in Florida. We lost my dad in 2000.
I would love to hear from any of my old friends, please feel free to get in touch. Just keep in mind I'm VERY busy, so sometimes I go days w/ out checking my e-mail. I'm sure you know how that goes. I hope to hear from you. - J -
