Gordon's Story
Life
Along the way to happily ever after...
I hung around Shingle Springs for 18 months after graduation. I worked at Sam's until the big mud slide on Hwy 50 cut down bus traffic to Tahoe and I was out a job. I then moved to Utah, went on a two-year LDS mission to Pennsylvania, went to college (BYU), met the girl of my dreams on a vacation in Hawaii, first kissed her on the day before Thanksgiving, proposed to her on Valentine's day, got married, graduated, got a job at IBM, moved to San Jose, MA at SJSU (night sc...Expand for more
hool), transferred to Colorado (Boulder area) for five more years with IBM, left IBM in summer 2000 and moved my family to the Dallas Texas area to manage a regional office of PSINet Consulting.
The current rundown: a house, four kids, a mini-van, two cats. It sounds all too simple as I tell it, but I have enjoyed the way things worked out.
I used to worry that life after high school would hold one bad thing after another. But it hasn't been that way for me. I feel blessed, lucky, grateful, and...well...happy.
