George's Story

Life I was born into a wonderful family that taught me to love life, family and people, respect others, be honest, have fun, laugh, learn from everyone, appreciate all, be interested in all things, enjoy nature, explore the world, and treat others as you would enjoy being treated. It has also taught me to share my gifts with others and to have a kind heart. Those factors have all played a part in how I live my life. I believe in balance, honesty, respect, compassion, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and enjoying life to the fullest. I would rather laugh than cry but both have a place in my life. Experiencing pain and suffering builds character, teaches lessons, and enhances the feelings of joy. In the last 30 years I have experienced a small part of what life had to offer and I have no regrets. I've been down and I've been up but it has all contributed to who I am today. I studied Engineering in college while I worked in photography. After graduation, I worked in the technology field at several companies, small and large, some that I also had a hand in starting. I also made lots of friends, spent time outdoors, and continued my passion with photography. In 1985 I married but after 14 years our goals in life diverged and we parted ways amicably. In late 1999, I moved to the beach (Corona Del Mar, CA) to heal, meet new friends, travel to new places, learn new things, and reflect on my life. In 2003 I wrote a new chapter in my life by meandering across the US photographing whatever caught my eye. I ended up in Florida where I reside today. Favorite sports, hobbies, and activities include running, mountain biking, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, backpacking, yoga, photography, beach volleyball, body surfing, music, reading, painting, gardening, cooking, tra...Expand for more
vel, writing code, and playing with technology. Some of the most memorable times of my past include all of the beach volleyball games that I played and photographed, my travels to Costa Rica, Spain, Germany, France, England, Sweden, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Cozumel, the Solomon Islands, the Cayman Islands and also through half of the United States. Backbacking in Southern Utah, the Sierras, Joshua Tree, Mt. Whitney, Mt. San Jacinto, and San Gorgonio. SCUBA diving in the Solomons, Monterey, Carmel, Catalina Island, Laguna Beach, Puerto Rico, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Ocean fishing for red fish, tuna, shark, and marlin and fishing for trout in the local mountains. Mountain Biking in the Florida Everglades, Calif. Saddleback Mountains, Whiting Wilderness, Aliso-Woods Canyons, and El Moro Canyon. Today, I write software to keep our national power company's equipment running healthy and I'm still photographing the beauty of nature. I'm never bored. I've matured in many ways and developed a little wisdom along the way. I stay fit by running, yoga, beach volleyball and eating healthy meals. I don't smoke. I do like to be creative, sociable, casual, and spend time with family and friends as often as possible. You will usually find me in shorts or jeans most of the time but I can put on a suit for the occassion. I'm patient and like to teach and share what I've learned from my past experiences. I live in a suburban home with a small lake in the back (typical Florida development) and a bunch of tropical fruit trees. I've been in a relationship for the last four years and I don't have any children. I love animals but my only pets are the wild creatures that roam through my backyard everyday. Hope that this has given you a small glimpse of life up to now.
