Life So much has happened since High School. It is said that one can never move back home once they leave. Now I know why, everyone treats and looks at you as if you were the same person as when you left. For me a young boy, shy, unsure of himself, not tending toward any social or popular group. Since then each year has brought fresh opportunities and challenges that have helped me to grow and provided new perspectives on life. At Rick's College I was lucky enough to discover a mentor, Mike Thompson, who encouraged me to come out of those shy days and helped me find my self-worth and a strong confidence. Through my global travels I have experienced many cultures from around the world. It is profound how different we seem at first, and yet, now that I have had the good fortune to become acquainted with so many people from so many countries I cannot help but see our similarities. Families and people have the same hopes and dreams as we do here in the United States. Freedom, peace, and friendship with others. Additionally, I became involved with student government in college, and then the real world of politics.
