Grant's Story
After high school worked at The Parts House in Santa Maria for about 6 years and took some classes at Hancock College, then went back to school full time at Cal Poly SLO, got a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Went to work for Westinghouse as a field service engineer, working at power plants on turbines and generators, did that for 3 1/2 years, but it involved way too much travel (home about 30 days a year). listic risk assessments for nuclear power plants, was there 13 1/2 years. Went to another company, ERIN Engineering, doing the same type of work, was there about 5 years. For the last 5 years I have been working for myself as an engineering consultant, doing the same probabilistic risk assessment work for nuclear plants. Been to Cairo, Egypt, Japan, South Africa and all over the U.S. for work. I have been living in Orange County, CA for the last 27 years.
