Anthony's Story

Life The kid voted most likely to succeed rarely will, and the Class President never really was as popular or confident as anyone ever thought. High School was the great social experiment, and someone turned the bunson burner too high on my talk-o-meter, but some molecules of humility and faith stuck to me, for which I am grateful. My friends in good measure know me well - good and bad. I'm where I want to be, living life like a good long poker game. You don't win with one hand, and you can only play the cards dealt. Some hands stink, others are unbeatable - but all are playable with some smart betting and plain luck making up the better part of the game. Some of my most enjoyable times come around after meeting someone who knew me as a teenager and after a few hours (and usually many drinks) - they look at me and say "Man....you're a righteous guy, and here I always thought you were stuck-up. Sorry about that." I don't care what you drive, where you went, who you know,or what important job you have. Are you real? I can smell fake like dog...t stuck to my shoes. I've been dealt some good cards in life, and I don't curse my luck or think that I made everything happen - it's all just for fun if you can keep it real. I get off doing stuff with my wife, my family, and my good friends that I've never done before. Other than Vegas, which I can visit 1000 times; I like new places, new stuff, new food, new times. Change keeps me going. I'll take a risk if its calculated and worth the time. Nothing ventured nothing gained. I've had the motorcycle, the boat, the dream-car - it's all just stuff. It's all in the people for me. I have two girls (Gianna 2005 and Ava 2007). I hope my karma is kind to me on the comeback, and that my teenage dating tricks don't come back to haunt me as a papa. etter though - I'll just have to play that one as it comes. It's comforting to at least know I wasn't as savvy as Chris Algeo...his Karma is gonna rock him<g>...sorry Chris...at least you're real. Anyway- I hope my classmates are all good- and that everyone meets with their success....whatever that means to them. I'm all good, happy to be in New Jersey and one of the few who doesn't walk around complaining that I'm stuck here as if someone nailed my feet to the state. I actually enjoy living in Toms River after all these years...go figure- ocean, beach, bars, friends, family..what more could a guy ask for? My son Joey graduated from North in 2007. He's a football/wrestling/lacrosse jock-head, slacker student who is shy, foolish, and who's taste in music I can't understand all while being a good person. The last is all that will ever matter. Bill Sharfenberg turned out OK. Best to anyone who takes the time to read this silly bio. Oh..and for those that were waiting for this- here it it- I like motorcycles, scuba-diving, hot-air ballooning, tuxedos, Vive Cliquot , MonteCristos , all types of red wine, MaCallan's straight up, Vegas Craps at the Bellagio, fishing in the Bahamas and Cabo; duck-hunting in Texas, camping in Colorado, boating on any lake in the US, computers, video games, movies and all forms of entertainment that allows my mind to vegitate, hot tubs in Aspen, skiing anywhere west of Mississippi, convertibles, country music, astronomy, partying in the mountains with our best friends, snowmobiling, skeet shooting, driving fast, playing hard. I don't watch the news or follow stocks. I love commercial Real Estate (it's my job), strategy games like Monopoly, chess, etc, and I still play piano. I'll try anything once, twice if I liked it. That's my story - and I'm sticking to it.
