Greg's Story
Life
After leaving Columbus in the summer of 1980, I spent the next four years in South Bend, Indiana, attending the University of Notre Dame (ND). My sports career there had itÂs ups and downs, but I am proud to say I graduated from ND in 3½ years with a Business Economics degree with a minor in marketing. After Notre Dame, I was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 1984 NFL draft. I spent nine-years in the National Football League (NFL) with the Bills, Rams and the Raiders. During my time in the NFL, I was selected Rookie of the year in 1984, All Pro in 84, 85, 88 and 89. Led the in scoring (non kicker) in 88 and 89 and was among the leagues top runningbacks five of the nine years I played. alcohol and peer pressure. I have served as national spokesperson for DARE, MADD and the DEAÂs Demand reduction program. In 1994-96, I moved to Europe and became the Assistant Director of Football Development for the NFL Europa, responsible for marketing and promoting the NFL Europe. I now live and make home in Santa Barbara, CA. with my wife of 18 years (Sophia) and my three kids (Rami, Chanel, LeShon). I have spent more than 12 years working in broadcasting here in SoCal, doing both television broadcasting and radio broadcasting.
Today, I have my own private wealth management business and devote a large amount of my personal time to the Athletes for Life Foundation. This is a foundation that I founded more than 17 years old with the help of Mario Cuomo (former Gov. of NY) to help mentor youth and keep them away for drugs and alcohol. Today, we provide mentoring for thousands of youth with AFL camps and speaker bureau.
