Greg's Story
Life
After high school, I worked for about two years, and then spent three years in the army. One and a half years of this was in Viet Nam. I was in a camp about twenty miles North of Saigon. Most of my time was spent here, except fpr a few short moves to places like Phu Loi,, Phouc Vin, Lai Kai,and others whose names I don't recall. After service I returned to Rockford, and Married Carol McCann (Guilford 1966), and we are still married. We had three children, a boy, and two girls. The youngest daughter now lives in Phoenix Arizona, the other two are in the Rockford area. We, at present, have four grandchildren, with a fifth due to arrive in August. They are the greatest joy. For my work life, I was with Illinois Bell,Ameritech,SBC, now AT&T. I worked there for 31 years, retiring in Dec. of 1999. After retirement, I bu...Expand for more
ilt a workshop in my backyard for woodworking. This is where I spend a great deal of my time.My middle daughter said thai I must build her a dresser for the baby that will arrive in August. It is probably time to start putting down some plans on paper. For further enjoyment, some friends and I own property on a nearby river where we have a couple of rustic cabins. We call this the slu (slough). It is our deer camp, our turkey camp, and our duck and goose blind. Life is good.I really enjoy this retirement. My wife thinks that I should be doing more around the house,as she still works, because she enjoys it. I just keep busy doing things that I enjoy, and of course the cooking. This a very short bio of my life, and if I were a more efficient typist it would probably be longer. Good luck and health to you all of East High 1964.
