Greg's Story
Life
I live as normal a life as one can living in the DFW area. My wife, Susan, and I have been married for over 26 years! We have two daughters, the oldest one at Texas Tech Medical School after graduating from Austin College in Sherman, TX and the youngest a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma. Besides working too much I enjoy doing volunteer work through groups at our church, business and community. Having a truly blessed life it's great to share with others.
We hope to move back to East Texas at some time but with current and future college expenses I am looking at being able to retire by the time I'm 95.
I hope that all of you have had as good a life as I have since Lee and would like to hear from you about the paths you have taken since '76!
College
I went to Tyler Junior College for one year, playing in the band and having a blast on trips with the Apache Belles! I was also lucky enough to play on the first TJC soccer team which is now a nationally ranked program. From...Expand for more
there I spent the next three years at Baylor University, again playing soccer and getting a BBA degree. I didn't graduate "magna cum laude" but more like "Lordy, how come!". I was lucky enough to meet my wife of 22 years now, Susan Sherrod Miller, there at Baylor so my business degree did help as it taught me how to work with a boss!
Workplace
I am Sales Specialist for United Rentals Aerial Equipment in Irving, TX. My specialty is selling equipment to allow people to work in high places in both aviation and industrial applications. Designing and selling equipment like aircraft stands and boom and scissor lifts allows me to get my customers "high" legally! I really enjoy being around aircraft like B-52 and B1-B bombers, E-3 AWACS and KC-135 tankers at Air Force bases and seeing how luxurious the interiors are on business jets like Gulfstreams and Lear Jets. It's also neat to sell equipment to manufacturing facilities and see how things are made from Snickers candy bars to computer chips!
