um laude, with "highest honors" and winner of the Dauz Prize in mathematics), I was one of only 13 accepted to the doctorate program in Mathematics at Cornell University in New York. Unfortunatley my father died just as I was about to leave, and then once back there, my home burned down and I lost all my stuff - so I decided to take a masters and leave. I worked in the defense industry at Hughes - working on various classified military projects, before becoming a full time mathematics professor. I still play guitar and write songs, and also do a lot of photography. I have travelled to Japan, China, Taiwan, France, England, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Venezuela, Costa Rica, etc.
