Greg's Story
Life
In January 1985 I left LPHS with enough credits for graduation and an enlistment in the U.S. ARMY. I delayed entry until SEP. 85 and worked construction cleaning in Port ST. Lucey FL. I came home for the summer and graduated with our class. In the Army, I was a helicopter crew chief with the 3rd Infantry division's 4th brigade; 3rd Attack helicopter battalion. I was stationed in Germany, at Giebelstadt Army Airfield. The post was built on top of a once secret Nazi underground jet base. lots noticed that sheep in that field had never moved, they figured out that the sheep were painted on the flat doors as camoflage. We bombed it and took it over.I met my wife Vickie (From Knoxville TN). while stationed there, we married in Dec 87 in Hillarod Denmark. We partied with classmates Tom Ford and Dana walker who were also stationed in Europe at the time. Then on to FT. Campbell KY. in 89 for 1 year with Taskforce 160, U.S. Army Special Operations "night stalkers". I've been in Atlanta GA. as an aircraft mechanic for Delta Airlines ever since. We have a beautiful 11 yr. old daughter, Haley, who keeps us on or toes!
