Greg's Story
I just read my original story, and realized parts of it may not have been entirely true. Then I got to the last line where I suggested in no uncertain terms that someone should organize a 40th reunion. Well, my profile was obviously out of date since the 40th has come and gone. Here's the updated version. I was on the reunion committee, along with Carol Hellie and Karen Wilkins, plus volunteers such as Nancy, Arleigh, Janet, Cheryl, Sandi and many others (see the rhhs1969.org website). What a blast!!! There WILL be a 45th, guaranteed! As for myself, after an eternity at UCLA, I finally emerged with a dental degree in '76, moved to OC in '80, formed a rock band in '81 (the wild adults, which was actually funny back when we were all young. the band lives on, but the joke doesn't...except in the case of our drummer, my son Dan) I married...Expand for more
my wife Carol in '83, opened a practice in Irvine in '85, and have spent my time working, goofing off, playing music, backpacking in the sierras and goofing off some more. I did stop to write a novel which was published in '08 (check out greg schinnerer on amazon, read the reviews, then decide whether you want to read it). At the reunion, I overheard some people suggesting that I might have transferred during high school, since my picture wasn't in the '69 yearbook (true...I missed picture day) or the '68 book (false...I was listed as a freshman by the name of Eric Clapton in that one). Fact is, I was there all along and am looking forward to keeping in touch with fellow '69 alums now that I've located you people. Expect messages on classmates as RHHS '69 activities are organized. We can't wait another 5 years to see each other, can we?
