School
My academic life began in September of 1959 when I was enrolled into the 1st Grade at East Gantt Elementary School, Greenville, South Carolina. My Dad had been transferred there in 1958 from Travis AFB. We lived on Twin Springs Drive not too far from Donaldson AFB. had written down the first (but not the last) names of each of my classmates. There were some I remembered (Susan Shepard, Frances Wilson, Billy), but many that had been erased from my memory. Through Classmates.com, I located Mickey Goodyear from the 3rd Grade class and we were able to fill in a couple of blanks, but not many. I am told that sometime in the Spring of 1964, we moved again; this time to Savannah, Georgia, and Hunter AFB.
