Currently live in the beautiful mountains of Pa. Love to travel, fish, camp out and help build homes with Habitat for Humanity.Have tried to impart some of my wisdom and experiences to my children.....only time will tell.
School
Did you ever see the movie " The Butterfly Effect "?It portrays the what ifs of life. I highly recommend it. Having said this ,man if I could relive my school days over again, the changes I would have made!I wouldn't have dated my best friends sister,it doesn't work. You wind up ruining the original friendship. That HS lesson saved me later on in life from making the same mistake again. Different decisions, choices, etc.Girl's I would have asked out and dated and the sports teams I should have played on .Looking back ,you realize with life's experiences that every aspect of your life is what you make of it.The good, the bad and the ulgy.It definitely helps to have a mentor or role model help guide and explain things to you and help you see your potential options. That was my greatest shortcoming during my school years .Playing sports, going fishing and earning money were my primary activities during my HS days.In between ,I studied my school work and read a lot of books and outdoor magizines. My overall memories of m...Expand for more
y days at P.S.44, I.S.51 and PRHS are pleasant. Now college is a different story!!!
College
Without a doubt my college years after HS were the best years of my life. I guess its because I left home and ventured out on my own for the first time and was responsible to only myself. No parent to tell what to do and when to do it.You were your own person and made your own decisions, for better or worse,at eighteen years of age .Living in a college dormitory made for a great introduction to this new world of freedom. The all night parties, bouncing from room to room and the ability to function the next day, showed a person the limits that the life could impose on you .Joining a college fraternity let me open myself up and exposed my wild side, unlike my HS days .Pledging with a group of guys who vowed to be 'brothers" for life was enticing and made the crazy pledging experience worth every minute. My crazy and daring personality that surfaced in college would stay with me forever. For those who have participated, who could ever forget their "Hell Night or Hell Week ". Joining student gov't was another opportunity to get exposed to the world outside my own. Being a dorm student and living on campus could isolate you if you allowed it to. Involving oneself with other college organizations was a perfect balance to the crazy frat life. The friendships that I made while in college were an important element to my overall college experience. The memories are priceless.
