Gregory's Story
Life
Well, after high school, I started college and then spent my summers traveling outside of the US. Traveling has become a major hobby of mine as I've traveled extensively throughout Europe, Southeast Asia, Central and South America and the South Pacific. It wasn't until '97, after graduating law school, that I decided to settle down to begin my career. I choose Seattle with it's proximity to the ocean, mountains, and pleanty of outdoor activities. I've been here ever since and can't think of another place I'd rather be.
College
After high school, I attended Tarrant County Junior before heading to the University of North Texas. I gratuated with a BA from UNT in '93 and took off a year before heading to law school at Texas Wesleyan University. During law school, I was trying to diversify my studies and ended up studying abroad for a semester at the University of Political Science and Law in Beijing, China. After China, I continued my studies spending my last semester attending the University of Hawaii in Honolulu....Expand for more
I graduated with my Juris Doctorate in '97. Following graduation I traveled around Hawaii for six months before coming back to the mainland.
Workplace
Since graduating law school in '97, I've managed several moves helping to propel my career. I began in Seattle by joining one of the oldest law firms in the city, Bogle and Gates. It was here that I had my first starts as an attorney, but it was short lived as the partnership disolved (through no fault of mine) 1 1/2 years after I joined the firm. After Bogle, I joined Preston Gates and Ellis where I soon began working on cases for Preston's largest client, Microsoft Corporation. It wasn't until '01 that a Microsoft contact suggested I apply for an open position for which I was perfectly suited. It turned out my background and credentials were a match so after being in private practice for approximately 5 years, I left the private sector to join Microsoft and said my goodbyes to the "law firm life." I've now been at Microsoft ever since and love every minute of it!
