Gregory's Story
Life
Greg Dalke is a BodyPump/ Group Fitness Instructor at World Gym in the Wildewood Shopping Plaza. He is also employed at the Naval Air Systems Command as a contracting officer. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and subsequently received a Master of Science Degree in Management from Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA with specialties in Financial Management and Acquisition & Contract Management. He is a member of the Arkansas Academy of Mechanical Engineering, Theta Tau (a professional engineering fraternity), Society of American Military Engineers, Military Officers Association of America and National Contract Managers Association. He is a Certified Professional Contracts Manager (National) and Engineer In Training (EIT, California).
A career Naval Officer (over 23 years on active duty), Greg first received his commission as a line officer under the Reserve Officer Candidate program in 1972. After serving on board two destroyer duty tours, he applied and was accepted for duty with the Civil Engineer Corps, or SeaBees. He served his last, active duty as the Staff Civil Engineer and Environmental Officer for Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, CA. Following the Navy, Greg worked in construction for American Operations Corporation in Patuxent River, Maryland and the Navy Yard, Washington, DC. He was ultimately promoted to General Manager and Vice President within the company. After he bought out the business line from AOC, he started his own company. And when that business line closed, he taught math and science and physical education (high school) at Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy (8 years).
Greg Dalke is married to the former Julie Anne Zucca of Swoyersville, Pennsylvania. They have two daughters, Melissa and Michelle, and a son, Keith. Greg and Julie Dalke make their home in Hollywood, Maryland.
School
Greg Dalke attended Lincoln Jr. High (9th) and Deering High (10th) Schools in Portland, ME when his Father was stationed there on active duty with the U. S. Air Force. He then transferred to Aurora High School, outside Denver, CO, for about 3 months of his junior year while his Father attended military training. Greg Dalke started college at Solano College in Solano, CA but subsequently transferred after his freshman year to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also received a Master of Science Degree in Management from Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA with specialties in Financial Management and Acquisition & Contract Management.

Military
A career Naval Officer, Greg received his commission as a line officer under the Reserve Officer Candidate program in 1972. His first tours of duty were with USS KRETCHMER (DER-329) and USS ROBERT H. MCCARD (DD-822), in the engineering and operations departments. Subsequent duty with the Civil Engineer Corps included Staff Civil Engineer with the Ship Repair Facility, Guam and Activity Civil Engineer for Public Works Center, Guam. From Guam, Dalke transferred to Newport, RI: first as Shops' Engineer for Naval Education and Training Center; and then senior Assistant Resident Officer In Charge of Construction (ROICC) for Naval Facilities Command, Northern Division's Narragansett Bay Area construction contracting office. He next reported to Naval School, Civil Engineer Corps Officers, Port Hueneme, CA as the Director, Facilities Acquisition Academic Division. Following CECOS and postgraduate school, he served as Executive Officer of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion SEVENTY-FOUR (home ported in Gulfport, MS) and then as ROICC Pearl Harbor, HI. He then moved back to Port Hueneme, CA to become the Director of the Naval Facilities Contracts Training Center and, later, the Director, Civil Engineer Support Office. He served in his last, active duty as the Staff Civil Engineer and Environmental Officer for Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, CA.
Greg's personal, military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Coast Guard Unit Commendation (Operational), Meritorious Unit Commendation (two awards), Humanitarian Service Medal (three awards), Expert Rifle Medal and Expert Pistol Medal.
