Life Went to SDSU for a year and then enlisted in the Navy (rather than being drafted---we remember that don't we). Spent 6 years in the Navy as an Electronics Technician and Reactor Operator on a slow attack submarine (USS Swordfish SSN 579). After getting out of the Navy, I went to back to Southwestern J C. for 3 months until I was hired (over the phone no less) at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (Dept of Energy). Worked as a Reactor Operator for 6 years and was then promoted to Shift Supervisor. Worked on many different "Tests" for the NRC and DOE for gathering data to support and create to Safety Codes for the Nuclear Industry (in other words, we melted fuel). That was completed in 1985.
