Gregory's Story
Me:
After graduation, I started working at WAPECA lumber. Looking to make more money, I took the mining safety class that was being held summer of '79 at the vocational school to get my certification so I could work in the coalmines. This seemed to be the path if you didn't or could not afford to go to college. After watching the films in the safety class and seeing all the cuts severed limbs and blood, I decided this is not for me.
So.................
Work:
I enlisted in the Air Force and worked on Avionic Flight Instruments on the B-52, KC-135, and F-4 at the SAC 68 Bomb Wing and the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson AFB. Goldsboro, North Carolina.
I remained in NC after leaving the AF in 1983 and took a ...Expand for more
job as a Radio/TV Repair technician thanks to the advice, training, and encouragement from SCHS Vocational teacher Mr.Otto Brown. I then took a job at Nortel Networks in RTP, NC worked there for 23 years. After leaving Nortel, I decided to contract as a Computer Technical Support Services. "jack of all trades master of some"
Family:
My best friend and wife Donna is an Elementary school teacher in NC.
I have 5 children, Annie, Melissa, Samantha, and 2 step-children Brandon, and Lacy. 1 grandson, Hunter. (He loves papa)
Except for Annie, all live in NC.
After the many twist and turns in the past 32 years, some good, some not so good, I wouldn't change a thing even if I could. I look forward to the next 32 Lord willing.
