Gregory's Story
This is Greg Wright I was in band and choir in 76-77. I was on the trip to Magic Mountain. The trip that I apparently forgot our sheet music for the choir so we had to wing it. That was also when Lisa W. led the marching band with no boots just socks. The buss driver took off before she realized she'd left them. Also Mr Johnson was a friend of our family prior to YB so I hung out in the band room a lot.
I believe the 'Fonz' link was as much about you being cool as it was your style choice/preference of leather jacket, jeans, and usually sunglasses. You and I did hang out a bit related to choir times. In fact if I had not already been with Kathy Reichelderfer I for sure would have wanted to ask you out. However I was not part of the 'cool' group, more of the goodie 2 shoes - overweight - kiss teachers asses - kind... you would not have been interested.
I have stayed in Northern Cal either in the SF Bay area or up around Sac. I married Kathy in 1981, had daughters in 85 and 87, thought I had divorced her in 1998 (only to find out she never completed her part of the final paperwork hoping I would have a change of heart) but for sure did when she passed in 2002. I have 2 wonderful daughters now 22 and 24. My youngest is in her 3rd year at Cal B...Expand for more
erkeley (with a 4.0 gpa I will add) and my oldest in Palm Springs running a retail clothing store and crime scene clean-up business.
I left YB expecting to peruse a law enforcement career but at my mothers request (OK plea) and just karma I was pointed in the direction of Hewlett Packard where I gained a tremendous education in the bleeding edges of computer technologies and fortune 100 best business practices.
Leaving HP in 1993 I became a trainer/instructor teaching business application software for New Horizon PC learning center until IBM recruited me into Software QA testing and subsequent test management in 1995.
2006 after finding out I was not going to get any younger and business is more about $$ than business is about quality or doing it 'right', I decided to reclaim myself and enjoy what I can of the rest my short time left on this plane of existence.
I now work at a Trader Joes in Walnut Creek and am learning how to blow glass which I now do from my home studio in Concord.
