Gregory's Story
Life
In 1967 I was drafted and sent to serve in Alaska. I fell in love with the place and stayed, despite the Army. I went to the University here and ended my career working for the State of Alaska. My job with the State mainly dealt with permitting and environmental issues which allowed me to travel the state extensively. I was fortunate and able to retire in 1999. I have spent most of my free time since then continuing to work on building my home. I started building on empty land starting in 1980. lots of fun in the process. The project has sort of turned into a hobby. In 1984 I married a lovely, talented and smart lady (Susie) who was a student in a Swing Dance class I was teaching. We have no children, which allows us time to travel in the winter and enjoy life in general. (No one wants to leave Alaska in the summer). She is an avid and gardener and her talent shows in our land and home. We have 2 1/2 acres. If you ever come north to Fairbanks look us up!
